What is Floral Preservation?
The basic principle of freeze-drying is the removal of water from a specimen as water vapor by means of a vacuum, and collection of this water vapor in a condenser. With the specimen solidly frozen during the process, shrinkage is eliminated or minimized, and near perfect preservation will result. Freeze-drying requires the use of a special machine called a freeze-dryer. The freeze-dryer has a large chamber that can hold thousands of flowers. Please visit our Flower Preservation page for more information.

How can I keep my flowers fresh until they get to you?
Always keep your flowers in a cool and dry place. We suggest you keep your flowers in water and refrigerate, but DO NOT FREEZE them.

Do I have to put my flowers into an encasement?
No you don't, but Bouquets to Stay recommends that you do. The encasements ensure protection from elements such as humidity, bugs and dust and the lifetime of your dried flowers are limited if not protected. If you choose preservation only, we must know in advance.

Do I need to select a display now?
NO! Bouquets to Stay allows you to deliver/mail flowers without a display decision. All we require is a non-refundable $75.00 deposit, which will apply directly to whatever display package is finally selected. Once we receive the flowers, we do require a final framing decision within 4 weeks.

How soon do you need the flowers?
Ideally, flowers should arrive as soon as possible after of the event. The fresher the flowers, the better the end result! You may contact us to make arrangements for courier pick up for a small fee if outside the Sacramento area. Or they can be dropped off at one of our locations in Roseville or Fair Oaks.

How long does the bouquet preservation take?
Average order turnaround time falls anywhere between 8-12 weeks, with a few display options requiring more time because they are customized to each customer. Bouquets to Stay reserves the right to extend this at anytime.

Do flowers change color?
Slight color variations can occur in the preservation process. Some reds may deepen, whites and creams may antique, and vivid purples and pinks may change hue.

What is the cost?
Cost varies on the type and size of your custom keepsake. Prices start at $175. We try to work with each individual to find something in their budget. To get started and hold your spot in the freeze-dryer, we require a non-refundable $75 deposit which will be credited to your final selection. Once you select a display, we ask for 50% of the order total and the balance is due upon completion. (Special payment plans can be arranged, please call 916-774-9666 for details.)
